Refund & Cancellation — Quick Reference
Refund eligibility on OnlyOnTrip depends on the fare type selected at booking. Non-refundable fares (usually the lowest-fare option) are not eligible for a refund if cancelled. Refundable and partially refundable fares allow cancellation with a deduction equal to the airline's cancellation fee. Hotel bookings with "Free Cancellation" can be cancelled up to the specified deadline at no cost.
Flight Cancellation Fees by Airline
- IndiGo: ₹3,500 per passenger for cancellations made more than 24 hours before departure. Non-refundable fares carry no refund.
- Air India: ₹3,000–5,000 per passenger depending on fare type. Full refund on fully flexible fares.
- SpiceJet: ₹2,750–3,500 per passenger. Non-refundable SpiceSaver fares carry a ₹0 refund.
- Akasa Air: ₹2,500–3,500 per passenger for refundable fares.
- These are indicative figures. Actual fees vary by fare class — always check your fare rules before booking.
Refund Processing Time
- Credit/debit card: 7–10 business days after the refund is initiated by the airline.
- UPI (GPay, PhonePe, Paytm): 3–5 business days to your UPI-linked bank account.
- Net banking: 5–7 business days to the source bank account.
- Hotel refunds: 3–7 business days after the property confirms the cancellation.
How to Cancel a Booking
Log in to your OnlyOnTrip account, go to My Bookings, select the booking you wish to cancel, and click the Cancel button. The refund amount will be displayed before you confirm. Alternatively, contact our support team on WhatsApp at +91 93269 40044 or email support@onlyontrip.com for assistance. We are available 24/7 for urgent cancellations.
Date Change vs Cancellation
If you need to travel on a different date, a date change is usually more economical than a full cancellation and rebooking. Most airlines allow one or two date changes on refundable fares for a flat fee (typically ₹2,000–5,000 per passenger) plus any difference in the new fare. Compare the date-change fee against the cancellation penalty before deciding which option is more cost-effective. OnlyOnTrip support can check the fare rules of your specific ticket and advise you.
Airline-Cancelled Flights
If the airline cancels your flight, you are entitled to a full refund of the ticket price regardless of the fare type, including non-refundable tickets. Under DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) regulations, airlines must refund the full fare within 7 days for online purchases. You may also choose free rebooking on the next available flight. Contact OnlyOnTrip support immediately if your flight is cancelled — we will coordinate the refund or rebooking on your behalf.
Partial Refunds and Taxes
Even on non-refundable fares, passengers are entitled to a refund of airline taxes and fees (passenger service charge, user development fee, etc.). These taxes are collected on behalf of the government and airports and must be refunded even when the base fare is non-refundable. The refundable tax amount is typically ₹600–1,800 per sector. To claim taxes on a non-refundable ticket, contact our support team within 90 days of the original travel date.
Hotel Cancellation Policy
Hotel cancellation terms vary by property and rate type. Free cancellation rooms allow you to cancel without charge up to a specified deadline — usually 24 to 48 hours before check-in, though some properties allow cancellation up to 7 days before arrival. Non-refundable hotel rates are the lowest-fare option but carry no refund on cancellation. Always check the cancellation deadline displayed on the room selection page before confirming your booking. Refunds for eligible hotel cancellations are processed within 3–7 business days after the property confirms the cancellation in their system.
